What is async/await in JavaScript?

**async/await** is syntactic sugar over Promises that makes asynchronous code look synchronous.

// With Promises
fetch('/api/data')
.then(res => res.json())
.then(data => console.log(data))
.catch(err => console.error(err));

// With async/await
async function getData() {
try {
const res = await fetch('/api/data');

Much cleaner for complex chains of async operations.
